Collect the residue (Sand and Sulphur powder) and dissolve it in Carbon disulphide (CS 2 ). Sulphur dissolves in carbon disulphide, but sand is insoluble in carbon disulphide. Filter the solution and evaporate it to get sulphur. Sand is dried on filter paper.
